Ooh, what a terrific shot of these most handsome and magnificent animals, I would love to be able to visit this place and see them for myself. And what a lovely place-name..'Land Between the Lakes', would that be a Native American name ?Trouble is, now I can't stop singing..Oh give me a home, where the Buffalo roam..big smile. Beautiful picture....there are many Buffalo in South Dakota. It is good to see them on the open range, though they will never be in the numbers they were before they were slaughtered. Thanks for this post.

Gorgeous photo Randee!! My husband is from the Cheyenne River Sioux reservation in South Dakota and I was so excited to see the buffalo when we went out there to visit. There used to be a farm here in Connecticut that had a few buffalo too. Beautiful shot!

Great composition and lighting, that one looking at you looks pretty big. Believe it or not I some some buffalo at a ranch here in New Hampshire a few weeks ago. They really look cool, great shot!
