Description
This is my first post, of the re-worked version
An image, based on an idea I had for a watercolor painting, that I meant to give as a wedding present to two very dear friends of ours. I failed to make it happen, my watercolor skills were not up to the task.
Sorry Colleen!
I tried to do it in 3D around 1996? but the software and my computer were not ready for what I had in mind.
Thanks again to Robotalk, and Tibet, for there useful comments, which I incorporated.
Always helps to have other eyes! ;)

I love the idea of the faeries in the bubbles but, to me, the background doesn't work here! I think I would have incorporated the scene in a wood background but, of course, this is just me. Also, some lights on the faeries maybe...to kind of make them glow and add some magic...mmmmh, just an idea huh! ;) can't wait to see the final result! Starts beautifully! ;)
I agree with both of you, my main problem has been the glowing orbs, they look like bubbles, which is not what I want. I do want more of an "Atomic" look, was trying to get that with the lens flare, looked good on the larger ones, but disappears on the small ones. And the woods look to bare, I need to heap more vegetation in it, I am struggling with really long render times now, but I have to start adding bushes, flowers rocks, etc..Thanks for the good comments!! Right on the mark! And yes I wanted many of them, I was originally inspired by hundreds of fire flies in the evening in the country side.
How did I miss this one?! I like the idea of faeries coming out like fireflies! Very cool. Don't know what the glow looked like before, but I like it now - especially the ones in the back! This looks like it was one heck of a long render. Maybe you could postwork in some trees or something to cut down the time? (Can you tell I'm impatient? ;-D) It's looking good, though!
This revised version is wonderful --I think you've done magic on this image...lovely and marvelous changes ! fine work once again !
A magical scene. I wonder how you'd approach it now if you were to do it. I luv the "fireflies". :)
