Description
I harvested this fern, scanned it on my scanner. [It may be a "Microlepia strigosa"]. The scan became a symmetrical lattice object, paper-thin and hard as a board. Multi-replicated in a tapering helix, a bit-o-jittering, lights, camera, and it begins to look like the whole plant again. This is my first attempt to play with the "Expert AA mode", 64 rays/pixel at 1200x1600, here reduced to 768x1024.

awesome lighting and setup, and excellent texturing as well. love the ferns:)
This looks really cool. THe shadows are excellent. You could put a few of these together and sell them. Well done.
:-( Are you entering this into the challenge? I see my slim chances slipping further away. ;-) This is really very nice. You gonna share the fern?
Very good piece Jim!
Excellent job...I like how you did the fern,I am going to be using my new camera as a scanner this spring to get a ton of textures so I can start to model the Plants for Bryce...Living in the Northwest will give me tons of plants to build from...Awesome job and thanks for the inspiration and Idea...
