Description
I have recently been reading Barbara Tuchman's book "Stillwell-The American Experience in China 1919-1945", which has a small section on the 3rd Combat Cargo Command, who, in WW 2, flew vital supplies and personnel into China over the Himalayas by way of a route they called "The Hump". No big deal these days,........but they were flying C-46 and C-47's(depicted here)whose top altitude was just about the same as some of the mountains they were crossing. Some of the pilots used to say they weren't sure wether the sounds they heard during flight was air turbulence or the rear wheel dragging the peaks of the mountains. In my mind, unsung heros, all of them.

Wow! What a fabulous mountain range and a lovely tribute to some very courageous individuals!
Awesome POV on this =)
Excellent image, and great bit of history. At one point if I recollect correctly. They were all volunteers.
Very well done! Good composition and rendering!

The mountains are excellent and the fogging effect is well done!
Superb, but your decals are wrong on the C47's.
