Description

Days I passed in my beloved shell,
days of love, and days of care...
Now I live abroad,
I see just seldom
the bright sun whose rayes
caresses you,
my Florence, my beloved friend:
But you're within
for every day that I won't catch
your golden walls,
your rooftops and stairs.
The smallest glimpse of your lookin life
and my joy sparkles,
and my soul raises.
Wherever I am ,
or I'm gonna be,
I am daughter yours,
for all I live.*

Picture taken with Canon IXUS 400, in October 2002, no postwork. Location, Via De'Benci, Firenze.

This morning that I am back in Florence, and the sun shines so bright.. I felt all the love for my town getting so huge I had to find a way to compose a hymn for it.
This picture is gonna be in an album soon updated in my website among others (it's a life that I don't update that section.. sorry), and I thought about sharing it.
It was way too long I didn't contribute to this gallery, and so I hope you all enjoy.

Very nice Meli! I love the sepia tone you have captured. I WANT A NICE CAMERA!!
I really like the capture of textures and architectures, old and new, rough and smooth, plus, you managed to add a human element that brings it all to life. Very nice.
The monochrome color scheme is exquisite, and the picture radiates an old-world beauty. Wonderfully composed and photographed.
fantastic dear heart. such a slice of life. i love it Meli!!
Thank you for sharing this magnificent image Meli HUGS I too am in awe of your favourite town, not to mention the beautiful people there hugs Thank you angel :)
With such great eye for atmosphere in a photo, I think the police would find it hard to come down too much on these guys :) Super photo, gives a nice representation of your hometown!
The tonality of the light and the colors is gorgeous. The details of the scene are perfect. Really a very beautiful photographic work. Congratulations Meli !
The photo is very interest...how do you know they are Bycicle Thieves? I hope it isn't because they tried to ripoff one of the bikes in the photo after you took it! Anyways, the poem is a great tribute to your much beloved hometown and the coloring is very appropriate.
Beautiful image, the lighting is great..very nice work!!!
Excellent Meli!! Your talent is amazing and the sepia tones make for a lovely image!!

This reminds me of a time during my Junior High School days when a friend of mine had his prized Bianchi bycicle(I mean bicycle ;-) stolen from a bowling alley. This is an interesting photo. I wonder what those two guys are up to there. Cool sepia tone. :-)
...and in this you are just excellent! Bravo!!!
Brava Meli! Bel lavoro. Continua a mostrarci la tua Firenze.
Fantastic shot Meli. Excellent photo!
How did you create the nice Sepia tones without post work?
Really cool shot, bravo :)
Bella :) Una scena di vita quotidiana.. Bell'effetto seppia.. Se devo darti un consiglio (fermo restando che mi piace moltissimo coscom' si poteva inquadrare tutta l'entrata sullo sfondo :) bacio :)
Eine erstaunliche Photographie . . . ! The tinting is perfect . . . ! "Vote . . . !"
I love the tones in this one very much. Wonder about the title.
This would make a funny note card! There are lots of possible titles, but "Bike Thieves" is excellent LOL! :-)
Excellent photography! :)
Wonderful shot! Wonderful words... Love the sepia :).
The beauty of causality.
Excellent photography! The scene is realy fantastic.
This is excellent, I love the sepia toning, it is actually hard to tell without being told that this is a newer photo, as the clothing on the men reflects a style that hasn't changed much in years. Well done, and I am glad that you are so happy to be back in Florence, it seems like a lovely place. :)
That is a terrific photograph! How does your camera add the sepia? I love the smallest details of this picture, which nicely offset the bicycle in the foreground.
love the sepia tone - it has a real old world feel to it.
