Description
Wow, my 3rd bird image in as many days...
The Carolina Parakeet's range once stretched from Eastern Nebraska to the entire eastern coast, and it's number in the hundreds of thousands. However being considered a crop pest, it was hunted for "sport" to the brink of extinction by 1900. The last Carolina Parakeet died in captivity in 1914. The Carolina parakeet was the only endemic parrot found in the Eastern US.
This was rendered in Poser5 with some post in Painter8. DAZ's cyclorama and DNA "Old Wood" were used as well, Songbird ReMix and the parakeet map from an upcoming project.

What a wonderful little bird and what a shame he's gone forever...great image and lesson!
Great image; man is such a wonderful caretaker of this planet.
Beautiful bird... and what a sad story... great image!
I really love the camera angle and the way this gorgeous (and sadly extinct) bird is gazing into it. Excellent use of the cyclorama and props just make this render look that much more real. :)
Great render !!
A wonderful additon to those birds !
