BIO
Because we value our privacy at home, I'm not going to say too much here about my personal life. Those that know me, already know probably too much about me. :) I am a programmer by trade and work for a company in Washington DC (even though I live in Florida). I've been programming almost as long (if not longer) than I've been doing art.
In 1988 or so, I started drawing on the C-64 which only had 64 colors (of which only 4 could be used in a certain place). There was a program called Koala Paint that I used to draw simple images with. I dreamed then of getting a 24 bit board I saw in the magazines, even though it was $2400 and I didn't even know what computer they were for. Then I got the Amiga and DCTV. Millions of colors! Yeah! Though it had troubles, it was still awesome to work with and I have found few paint programs that work as well as that one did, though Painter is pretty close. Then I finally got the elusive 24 bit computer (the IBM compatible) and I was on my way, though I still miss the old days of Deluxe Paint and DCTV.
I work in 2D and 3D with an emphasis on 2D. My work includes celebrity portraits, down home scenes, and fantasy. I also lean more toward family art so that I can show the kids, not because I have anything against the more adult works. My mediums include Poser, Bryce/Vue, Painter and Photoshop with a touch of LW (still learning on that one).
Thanks so much for viewing this page and I hope you will enjoy my work. On behalf of the whole family, have a great day...

WICKED COOOL!!!!!! Eiiiiiischhhh! I got the chills looking at this one! Very well done! I love your ghost effects Shadow! Have you got a tutorial on the technique hanging around anywhere? I'd love to see it if you do! Ghosts have always eluded me. Dang but I like this Shad! The misfortune teller's expression is PERFECT!!!!! I'm telling ya, this gave me a shiver down the spine! Yet, somehow I can't stop staring! OH NO, I'm trapped forever! HELP!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

she's looking our World from outside - and know past present and future

Everything is in place. The ghostly spirits are ready to capitalize on the misfortunes as she reads them off. The demon is driving her to ever greater expectations of disaster and how else can it end but in silence?

I don't believe I'll be going to her real soon. Good work.

I think I must concur with 'dragonmagic' on this one my friend - it is entirely eerie in every respect. What truly brings this render to the epic of perfection is the magnificently crafted glass ball and the fabulous lighting you have created around it. It highlights her necklace, face and halter top perfectly - and gives the whole image its magical look. Your ghost technique is impressive to be sure, and as 'copperboy' said, I too won't be soliciting her services anytime in the foreseeable future. Your prologue concerning all the mind numbing conflicts is right on the money - it seems every new day brings us a monstrous calamity of some kind. My heart grieves for the families of the Columbia disaster...such a horrendous way to perish. Your render is almost a perfect tribute my friend, and done with exceptional skill.

Have to also go along with dragonmagic and Jason your wonderful art is very deceptive as unless you are familiar with the artistry involved its hard to appreciate your great skill!!

Excellent work, Shad. Your technique of rendering ghosted images with zero postwork is something definitely worth a tutorial. Very well done.

Boy Shadow...I thought I'd never get to the end of this list so I could write a comment...LOL. Seriously, I am once again amazed by the depth of your abilities as an artist. The lighting is just perfect...notice how it shines off her cheek bones and forehead, but still her nose is darkened, giving it a wonderful, yet eerie shadow...and then the brilliance of the globe reaches out to highlight under her arms and the area around the table, but it's almost as if it knows it's own limitations. The detail and shading are to perfection and I love the spirits in the background. Just the right amount of transparency and they have a great sinister look to them. I know I would not want to see them hovering in the background. Shadow...your work continues to show depth, imagination and a growth in your abilities. What a wonderful thing that is to know about oneself. You continue to strive to push the limits..so many are happy to stay where they are. Excellent work!
Gazghull
