Description
A sneek peek at what I have in store for November... I definately didn't go "off the rails" with this 3D model set. My latest Songbird Remix creation is "Shorebirds v6: Rails of the World".
The Buff-banded Rail (pictured) occurs in the Cocos (Keeling) Islands (to Australia), the Philippines, Indonesia, Palau, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Australia, Norfolk Island (to Australia), New Zealand, New Caledonia (to France), Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa and Niue (to New Zealand). It gets its name from the unique buff band across its mid-breast.
It feeds on worms, mollusks, crustaceans (including crabs), insects, spiders, small fish, frogs and tadpoles, bird eggs, fruits, seeds, young plants and other vegetable matter.
It is monogamous and territorial.
