I would love to believe that mankind could find everlasting peace and harmony but, sadly, age has given me a more cynical viewpoint of this world in this day and age.
So long as we allow selfish, power-hungry zealots to attain power and positions of leadership, I fear that everlasting peace will remain just a dream.
Douglas Adams encapsulated the human condition perfectly when he wrote; "Anyone who wants and seeks power should be automatically barred from such positions."
Sadly, that means that the only people suitable to lead are the ones who do not wish to lead. Until we find a suitable compromise, we, I fear, as humaity, are doomed to repeat the mistakes of the past.
Having said all that, I do agree with everything you wrote above and will continue hoping that, one day, humanity may come to its senses. Until then, regards and best wishes my friend.
