That a very nice nice fractal sunflowers Jacomina. I like the colors very much. My favorite is the first one.
Thank you so much, Christian. My favorite is also the first one.
amazing that you called this "sunflowers"---because sunflowers (zonnenbloemen?) are some of the most explosive and allesomvattend flowers in nature. (I hope that was the right dutch word. Or does it end in an "e"?) And your fellow countryman/landgenoot, Van Gogh, painted them often. And spectacularly.
Your zonnenbloem is a Jacomina zonnenbloem through and through: It's a big glorious 'burst' of a flower, filled with life and vibration and beauty. in the center, you've created all kinds of white forms which look like beautiful white creatures or worms, or like cotton. You've also created a 'glassy' feeling in the center petals, like every petal is made of pure glass. It's very complex and beautiful.
And the intense center---the DNA of this flower---blooms outward into pink and then green and yellow petals. The outer petals are almost silk...they're wisps flying in the air. And you have lots of thin strands flying out of the flower too. Like antennae coming from the flower. (It's alive...it's seeking connection with the universe...)
It's a big metropolitan-center-of-a-flower, a loving bow to the zonnenbloem, with all your usual layers and many forms of life. Beautiful, Jacomina. I'm sure the zonnenbloemen of the world are very grateful.
And re the different colored versions: I wrote a tale, long ago, about a person who was tired of the universe, and so he put the universe into Photoshop, and changed all the colors. That's what you do from time to time---you just change the colors of an image. Therefore, 2 very different personalities come forward. The last one is more serious and reflective...and the middle one: It looks like you added flowers and plants to it. Either that or you lit them much more: It's intense and beautiful. And the deep red adds a new passion to the original. Beautiful work, Jacomina. As always.
Thank you so much, Mark, for your profound description; your words are like sunflowers for my soul. It was a joy to create this fractal and to make the most of all the possibilities offered by my old version of Apophysis. I am truly grateful that I can still use the program, thanks to Karel, who managed to port it over to Windows 10. It’s wonderful that you perceive some of the colors as if they were made of glass; I believe this is because I blended two different fractals, which gave me a wider range of possibilities. It is so special that you wrote about a person who had grown weary of the universe and then changed all the colors using Photoshop.
Wishing you much healing, dear friend, as well as many blessings along your path.
Jacomina...I truly thought, I truly truly thought that I had responded to this and your comment on Rod's dedi---I genuinely thought I'd responded that day, because it was so touching to read you (in both galleries) and to see you here (since you've been going through so much upheaval and of course pain, etc). I've been in a whirlwind at home, a series of sudden infections put me in an emergency room and stuck me on antibiotics, etc. I'm healing now, but I just haven't had my head in the right place. So let me thank you here...
Your comment for Rod's piece was flowing like a waterfall, typical of your soul, for both my art and for rod and jo. I so appreciate all you wrote. (He was in the hospital himself---twice in the last few weeks, several days each time---so he hadn't even seen my dedis yet. I sincerely hope he saw your words. I'll mention them to him when I drop him a sitemail soon. But even with all the stress and pain in your life, you never cease to send love in the most loving and gushing form. And I'm very grateful.
And thank you for your response to my comment, here. Your art just grabs me and shakes words out of me. It's huge in depth and opulence---spiritual opulence. Jewels of the heart and soul. I pretty much just let it guide me to the right words. I'm so glad what I write about your work means as much to you as it does. Thank you for your response. (And Karel ported the old apophysis to Windows 10? So is he your computer-problem guru? If so, keep him. Don't lose him! If he goes out for an hour, be sure he comes back! Spouses who can solve computer issues are worth a million pieces of gold, lol. (Helle has her son: Dennis. He's a computer guru. I told her, "don't lose him!") I"m impressed also because I know Karel has been through so much as well. I'm glad he could solve that issue for you.
I will write soon. I hope you are both holding-on (as we say in english), "staying above the stormy waters" as best you can. And I hope dearly that your struggles with health and pain let-up, give you more space, more peace. I meditate for you often (like prayer), and I hope your burdens are not too great. And same for Karel. Thanks so much for your comments, love and endless blessings, mark
