Description
Well not quite all, as I haven't started the texture maps yet, but the rigged trailers and the tractor are now assembled in two types of rig. The less complex rig allows easy posing of the truck and its trailer but isn't suitable for animation. The more complicated rig allows the tractor to be animated and the trailer will follow, taking the same path a real trailer would take where the trailer wheels follow a different path to those that the tractor unit wheels follow. The more complicated rig was a bit of a pig to assemble and is more difficult to use, which is why I bothered with the simpler one.
Most of the time I am going to render the truck in still images, and it's even possible I will never animate it, so the simpler rig was worth the effort.

It should look even better once I start making some texture maps with company logos and names on them.
Looks great - especially with the longer trailer.
I saw a lorry the other day with a lengthened trailer and it had triple axles. Looks impressive if you fancy a third option. :-)
Triple axle trailers are still rare in the USA and would have been even rarer in 1965, so for my purposes this is as big as it is getting. I do have plans for another trailer based on the 53 foot trailer but those will stay under wraps until it appears in a story.
