The story is as old as the hills, St Patrick it is said that St. Patrick drove the Snakes out of Ireland, Children are now days told that after the last ice age which was before I was born the Snake never made it back, I know which story I like best

We need him here to drive away the coyotes. When I moved in my house in 1967, we could go out of our backyard into the woods which lasted for at least 5 or 6 miles. Now all that land has been built up with shopping centers, houses, apartment buildings, and schools etc. now the coyotes don't have a home, or a place to hunt for food so they come up into our neighborhood and hunt our pets [cats & small dogs] and it just keeps getting worse. I'm afraid they are going to get so hungry that they might attack children. I keep my cats in the house all the time but some people let their pets outside and sadly all they find is the remains the coyote left. good illustration work.
Coyotes you can keep them over there we don't want them Over in London in and around the Docklands they say there is rats as big as cats. never seen them and guess what I am not going there to find them bit by bit we have tave taking over the hunting grounds of most wild life then we are cross when they come on to the land that was once theirs In some parts of the world those things that I hate those snakes can go in to people's homes and the people will not even try to move them out that country now it's big say that over one million people are bitten by snakes each year not all die Many thanks for the comment

Ah, you brought the story to life, well done :)
No one can say which of the stories about snakes is the right one. now days people buy snakes as pets but look at the States, people there buy or catch baby crocs keep them at home forget that they get bigger then they put them down the drains

@radioham And then the suckers who have to maintain the sewers get a 'nice' surprise...
But why do people get such pets somewhere deep inside their little head they must understand that a bath tub is no place for to keep them we read that some people offer them to Zoos but so many find their way in to the drains
