~Hawkgirl 2001~
Last time I posted Hawkgirl (Shayera Hol), I used the comics version even when referring to the her appearance in the DCAU "Justice League" TV series (2001-2004) because I like that uniform better. This time, I am going for the actual 2001 DCAU version for the sake of authenticity because this is what she wore as a founder member of the Justice League.
I suppose shorts over pants were a thing of their time. She is literally wearing a strapless leotard, shorts and pants all at the same time, when they are usually mutually exclusive. Surprisingly, she is one of the very few superheroes to wear jewelry - her pearl earrings, while Wonder Woman were her iconic star-shaped earrings.
By the end of season 2, her romance with John Steward (Green Lantern) finally blossoms, and there is an iconic scene were she allows him to remove her helmet, revealing her pretty face and striking green eyes for the first time before a passionate kiss. For some reason (LOL), the camera moves away and we don't know what happened after that, but I am pretty sure the helmet wasn't the only thing removed. 💘

They wore what was easy to illustrate, and what was not too graphic. Could not have the women showing off TOO much. Very nice image. Made my weekend.😁
Thank you! Ironically, all women were wearing high leg leotards - it was just Shayera who ended up overdressed, but still wearing a strapless bunny suit leotard. LOL
Cool picture!! I grew up as a teenager back then watching her on The Justice League cartoon show and I also created her the best I could on Soulcalibur 5. Nice work!
Thank you! My previous Shayera fanart was from the comics version, but this time I wanted to show her in the original 2001 outfit from the animated show. Since she is a founder member of the Justice League, I thought it was important to show that version of her this time. ^^
Boy do I miss those great stories from my young days
Oh yes, the stories were surprisingly good considering the superhero trope. The stories for each episode of the original 2001-2004 Justice League TV series are still awesome even nowadays. That was a time when the artist (Bruce Timm) was also in the producers list credits. ^^
