Description
Hello everyone, today I have a small example of a video I previously did on my YouTube channel and I wanted to share it here as I normally don't do many automotive based videos on this site anymore. Its a story about a retired race car driver who looks back at his life in auto racing.
I wanted to show how AI is capable of helping me create a racing car video. I strongly believe that AI has its place in the art community when used as a tool to generate content that would otherwise be difficult and time consuming to do any other way. AI is not all about prompts as one still has to develop the story and do all the background research in order to gather all reference material that is required to make it happen. I still make many mistakes in doing these animations but i hope to get better the more I become accustomed to using AI together with my 3D sources.
I feel at times like I am fighting an uphill battle when using AI on my art work since the perception of AI is so negative towards it and it does not seem to be getting any better no matter who is using and how it is being used. Only time will be tell if it ever gets a better reputation. As for me, I will continue to use it as the time I save in doing my animations is the biggest reason I will continue to use it. AI helps me to pursue this hobby while still being able to have time left over for other endeavors in everyday life...as I have gotten older, time has become more valuable to me!
I hope everything is well with you all and I want to thank those who have viewed my animations both here and on my YouTube channel. I am grateful for your support my friends. :)

Wow ! Wow ! Wow ! The guys are sooooo realistic...they REALLY speak to us ! I don't even mention the race itself, it's...wow ! The winner is Mr JohnnyM.
This is so very good, love the cars, the action looks so very real, the sound effects great it must have took days to make
Just PERFECT
I'm not a big fan of car races. Great film though
another jaw dropping video full of action, sound and render, well done Hollywood Johnny.
Awesome work !
I'm sure it's amazing, but it won't start for me.
Absolutely stellar work, mindblowing awesome video, brilliant Directing again. Big Houses would dream of such brilliance.
I love it!😊💝🥰
Very cool AI animation. Looks very cool.
I have been watching a lot I mean a LOT of full-length (90min to 2hrs) AI generated movies on YouTube. They are very detailed, but they all have a lot of funny errors I could go on for hours explaining them. Just one example; I watched one where a guy on mars opened a case that had automatic weapons in it down in a pit. When he brought it up out of the pit, he had a small case, and I thought he had found something else. When he opened the case, the same automatic weapons were in the case but were very tiny. I laughed so hard. AI is a lot like dreams. You can be dreaming about driving a car with digital gauges and next you're dreaming about the same vehicle with different digital gauges or even analog gauges or even a different type of vehicle which I saw on one AI movie. Things keep changing like in a dream. People change; cloths change there are only supposed to be 4 people then you count 5 people then 4 people. They shoot at the enemy, and the enemy is coming at them from behind them not in front etc, etc. AI is crazy fun.
I have no words for this wonderful animation of yours, incredibly realistic. An exceptional work my friend 👍🙋♂️
I admire this very much indeed, Sir! I like the way the cars jockey for that juxta position. The commentary is technically correct as well. Brilliant composition! Well done!
It doesn't matter that there are people not liking the AI. There are people not liking abstract art (I'm between them, except for few exceptions) but it exists and will continue. Same for painting, or taking photos. There are always few people against things and you can't change that. They aren't you, you know yourself and if you have fun to do it, go for it! I'm glad you continue with your videos.
Saw this one on your YouTube channel ;-) Nice!
And those who dislike AI assistance are always free to reject it, just as I reject washing machines in favor of my washboard, clocks in favor of my hourglass, and cars in favor of my donkey ;-)
I saw the full Porsche story on youtube, but I'll comment on it here.
After a snippet at the track---with very realistic people servicing the car, and the car elevating---cool moment!---you go to the 'formal' intro, with Philippe talking in a sea inlet, with beautiful rocks and water...a very reflective spot for a reflective opening. (The guy sounds a bit like Richard Burton. Great face too---he looks like a weathered driver; but he also looks like a weathered seafarer---fitting since he's talking from the sea.) (I was half-expecting "Aye, Matee!" w/ a parrot on his shoulder, shrieking, "pieces of eight! pieces of eight!") Your story-telling skills come through in all kinds of ways---this guy is a perfect way to start a look-back at one's past life...
Cinematic ransition: His older eyes become his younger eyes, and boom: We're back on the racing track.
The driving shots are very true to good race car cinematography (if you haven't seen it, you might wanna see "Grand Prix", the film, by John Frankenheimer...it's one of the standard titles on racing...((parts are not as good as others, but his camera work on the road is first rate)). Frankenheimer also made the original Manchurian Candidate, Seven Days In May, etc.) You use low angles so the road comes zooming by---the insignia on the road morphing at high speeds as it rushes under our gaze. You cut from frontal to back shots to give constant contrast (and enhance the rhythm and action w/ the cuts). And we get the feel, the sensation of these low-to-the-ground cars, hugging the road.
I love the interview: The guy really talks like an actor who's doing a promo---he has the perfect tone, sincere yet a bit forced, and with that perfect young face so typical of young actors and actresses in hollywood. He's not grizzled yet---like the older Phillipe. (I know about "grizzled". Too well...)
And the piece fades back to Phillipe on the rocks, as he bids us goodbye. (Goodbye, Richard Burton! I can't help but think of him, with that great voice. Can you regulate the voice-tone with your software? It's a great voice.)
As for the argument about AI: I've said it before but it bears repeating: You're simply using AI to provide you with the materia medica of your films...its your 'central casting' and production designer. Just as a director doesn't create the actors and sets, so you don't either (and where're you gonna come up with 17 million dollars, which is what all that stuff costs---for a 3 minute video! What, Paramount's gonna invest millions?) AI gives you the materials, but you are the sole voice and creator of what the actors and sets do. These are your works through and through...and your camera angles, your choice of cuts, your zooms and so on, are all yours. You're doing what directors do. I have no questions whatsoever about your use of AI. You do terrific work with it, Johnny. I'll see if I can come up with something idiotic from your raptor piece. (Don't worry---you'll get credit for the inspiration,, but the idiocy will be all mine...you won't suffer, I promise! Also, I get maybe 5 or 6 comments, so most people won't even see it, lol: You won't have to hide under the desk, I promise! I just hope I can conjure the inspiration to do it. I did one previous tale based on your work, I should be able to do another.) Terrific stuff, Johnny. All the best w/ your family and work. Many blessings your way.
