Impressive wisteria. I sowed one. Don't know if I will see flowers some day

Thank you, illkirch. Long ago I saw a seed in this wisteria, and I sowed it. We didn't think it would work, but now we have a second wisteria in the back of our garden. I'll post the photo of this one too. Good luck with yours, illkirch! :)

I probably commented on these privately, but it can't hurt to say more here...

Your home---especially in spring---looks like it's right out of a beautiful fairy tale. (The Grimms', for instance.) Beautiful bushes, flowers, lush greens, beautiful short trees in front...and that wysteria is like a lush scarf draped over the front door and windows. This is probably a very "stereotyped" thing to say, but this is how I pictured Germanic and Dutch homes, when I was a kid: Intimate, warm, inviting, and surrounded by lush green and beautiful flowers. (And are the Netherlands truly the tulip capital of the world? Or is that just a myth? You posted a garden, a few posts early, with lots of tulips. The rest of the world certainly thinks of "tulip" when they think of your beautiful country.)

And the shot of you---I had to look for a minute before I saw you! You blend right in! Your door has some similar colors in it (from the sun)---for a minute I thought that was your twin! Your front yard is a beautiful intimate space. I always love to see your home and surrounding area. It's gorgeous, which you deserve. At least nature is giving you lush surroundings, as you deal with nature's great challenges. (Challenges you don't deserve!) A beautiful pair of shots...what a joy to walk out to, each day...

Thank you for your kind words. What I thought was funny, was that you call it a fairytale house. My father-in-law said this too. Karel's father was a great friend to me, but unfortunately he died much too early.

I love your words comparing the wisteria to a scarf. Our house is an exception in our area. Nowadays the houses are usually sleek with flat roofs, like building blocks. Yes, and there are many passers-by who photograph our house, or ask if they can buy it. I sometimes say: "yes, that's good". Lol, but Karel doesn't want this, he would miss his garden too much, but our house is so big and old it requires so much maintenance.

Anyway, we work a lot in the garden, which is really necessary. But I really enjoy seeing different flowers blooming again and again. And it's a place where I always go hunting with my camera, I love insects they are so interesting.

I'll post a few more photos soon that are more recent. Oh, and about tulips, indeed in the north-west of the Netherlands there are very large tulip fields in all kinds of colors.
