About 75 million years ago in what is now Alberta, Canada. A herd of Parasaurolophus Walkeri make their way to a watering hole on their favourite river. Note the two males standing up to scan for predators; the predators know the herd needs to drink, so this is the most dangerous part of the day. Although when Parasaurolophus Walkeri was around T. Rex had not yet evolved there were ancestors of T. Rex about and a member of this herd would be a most satisfying meal for several Bistahieversors (see elsewhere in my gallery), for example. The Parasaurolophus has always been one of my favourite dinosaurs, partly because of the goofy name and partly due to the way they look. This is a most excellent model fully rigged for Blender and with 8k textures. I had it on my wish-list for months, hoping for a sale, but it seems the creator of this model doesn't do sales. In the end I bought it at the full price of $40 (US), making it the most expensive single 3D purchase I have ever made. Totally worth it. I used the Blender Parasaurolophus from RenderHub, the excellent Hell creek modules from DAZ for the scenery and period correct plants, plus extra plants added in from various sources including Renderosity. Shaders all set up by me, I even tweaked the Parasaurolophus shaders to add a metallic sheen on the colourful male crests and added sub-surface scattering on both sexes to improve the realism.
