I would like to know the backstory of this scene; it is a very interesting and candid image of an event or party. It is well-balanced and composed. However, I feel that the red-coat gentleman on the right is detracting from the main focus in the image. The eye keeps traveling in his direction, which I think is not your intent. Otherwise, the scene works well.
It is a bit distracting but then pulls your eye around to include all the background figures in turn. To be picky I could have raised the torch light a bit to make it work better. To me the scene represents a young writer celebrating her fantasies and potential rewards thereof. Maybe I could have put a book in her hand.
Or maybe she's an actress.
