Description
So we are nearly at the end of the year and rather than out a load of rushed and invariably crappy work, I have chosen to just post three more beyond this one and call 2025 over.
During the Christmas break I will spend time clearing out everything from this year and start afresh in January (I do this every year) and I have quite a lot of old files to clean up, this year has been pretty intense too as I have made quite a vast amount of progress largely due to shifting from a gaming pc to a purpose built workstation, that Quadro has been a definitive turning point as I can push images and Blender much further than I could previously and I've only just really unlocked what I can now truly achieve in render with it.
While the pc certainly helped but the biggest shift was changing who I started turning to for inspiration, shifting away from following mostly 3D artists to photographers and filmmakers, after all, a few years back my aim was to start producing 3D images that look and feel like photographs so why not follow photographers and work to make my images more akin to the real thing?
Of course this has also come courtesy of a very secret piece of my inventory, a trick so guarded that Pippy holds it in her hands, I was modelling a camera for a prop and had an idea to make the camera to the exact schematics freely available online and then stick it to my rendering camera and thus create a DSLR that functions just as the real world equivalent. More importantly ever since I have been rendering through it's various lenses that I have made since, it's quite a wonderful tool.
But above all else this year has been defined by the rise of my newest generation of characters, modelled to a higher standard than before and all poised for the same purpose to tell stories far beyond what has come before.
Gosia, my latest addition and supersede for Evelyn and Fae, I didn't believe that I would be modelling someone to fulfill that task so soon, but time is eternally moving and clutching to what has been for the sake of my own sentimental feelings is not conducive to good work.
Truthfully I'm very proud of Gosia and hope that Escaping Reality will do both her justice and give Evelyn, Fae and all my first generation of characters the fitting end that they deserve.
Isla has of course been the star of my year, from barely a concept at the very start of the year to find myself now editing her book along with composing the images that will go within is little short of breathtaking, though in a strange way I wish it wasn't quite so close to being over for her.
Finally Scorpio, no other character has gotten me into more trouble than her, either for being too violent or when I have actively risen to defend my most treasured child, no matter the cost her story will be told and while it has grown so vast that I can barely explain the sheer volume of work invested in it so far, in the truest sense it has become a unparalleled labour of love in everyway and as such there is no cost at all.
I hope that you enjoyed what has been of 2025 and will enjoy the last few remnants of the year put forth for you to too.
Finally allow me to wish all that have followed me the best Christmas and New Year, I am quite truthfully nothing more than a thankful Author that is continually humbled by the courtesy extended to me by so many.
I savour the opportunity to share my work with you both now and for 2026 too.
