Description
An old photo used to create a terrain and then as a texture. I quite liked the outcome.
The photo was from the early 1960's.

Cool outcome, indeed. I also made terrains from photos some time ago. I guess you then put the photo as material on the terrain. Though it looks a bit unfocused (often the case when combining terrain and photo this way) but the title fits 100 percent, absolutely no complaint about the haziness from my side.
The creation method is correct. The same photo as height map and material - though I usually call it texture.
It took several test renders to achieve the unfocussed look I was after - I wanted it to look a little hazy. :-)
