Hi and thanks for the peek :)
Something I started a few months ago and stumbled across over the weekend....Not sure how to finish this so probably why I forgot about this. Simply a WIP and straight renders out of Daz...no post work and incomplete as far as detail, characters and sneaky scary things in the dark...lol

I choose second one because it is more dramatic. Like the smoke in the air in the first though.

Both are superb, but I much prefer the second one, which is far emptier, more secretive, and intriguing.

Great image. My feelings about where to go, I think the lighting on the egg is better in the first shot. The circle of flames maybe is providing some of the fill light from underneath that helps give the egg more sense of depth. The second image loses that surface depth because the lighting from below is almost gone.
On the other hand, the people around the scene in the first image don't feel like they are oriented to the scene. If you want to include them, I think it would add a lot to let them be reacting, consistently facing the center. Maybe someone has their hand raised to their face,

I'd go with the darker one ... far more ominous and dramatic, plus the sparkly sparkles are so cool ;-)
As for finishing it with some good story ... perhaps it will come to you during a nap, although everything doesn't always need a story :-)

knowing how you like to do things in low light, I know you know the answer. Too much light and you just may reveal a bit too much, you have to keep us guessing on what else you put in the render. I think Rod on his above comment also has you figured out. lol
It's nice to be able to catch up with some of your awesome art work, I 'll get to the rest on another day my friend. :-)

I like to keep it dark, not easy to do in these kinda softwares but what is life without a challenge....lol
I prefer the 2nd as I can see a story unfolding....the first is the story so you and others know me to well and I have no problem with that :)
