There's a knock at the door ... a muffled sound, three times, then silence.
Before the threshold: shadows, flickering pumpkin eyes,
and a hissing voice:
"Trick or treat?"
What will you give them?
If you hand out candy, they'll disappear laughing into the night,
their bags rattling, the darkness breathing a sigh of relief.
But if you hesitate… if you give them nothin,
then they'll come again.
Not at the door, but in your dreams.
