Description
Following up on my previous post which did not allow for a full view of the Northrop XB-35. This view shows it on a test flight shadowed by a P-61c Black Widow. Notable is the fact that it was the first time that TV cameras were utilized to evaluate the flight. Cameras were pointed at the flying wing's instrument panel and transmitted to the P-61c chase plane.
Although problems with both the original contra-rotating propellers and the later single props were a major issue, the rival promotion of the Convair B-36 ultimately led to the demise of the XB-35 and the jet powered version, the YB-49.
Still, it was an beautifully elegant beast in flight!
Blender, DazStudio, some touch-ups in PsE, and not a drop of AI.

Great job!
Thank you, kindly!
Wonderful scene!
Nice! A great rendition of a pair of classics! I've always thought the P-61 was an awesome aircraft. And there are a bunch of big, black flying wings living about 20 miles from me.
Really great job on this excellent scene!
Impressive aircraft. Well made picture.
cool !
Nice work
Did they plan bunks in the wings for long flights? Your render of this 'what-if' looks beautiful.
No bunks, but actually the crew compartments were not cramped, and thank you for stopping by!
