Hello dear friends,
Today I'll share one of my poems, written years ago.
I wrote them on a fractal made with Fractal Explorer.
Below you first see the original one in Dutch, and under the line I've tried to translate it in English.
I hope this version is a bit of a reasonable representation of the essence of the original.
To be honest, I have no idea, because I usually use words in my Dutch poems which you can translate into 2 different meanings, and often use Dutch expressions.
Well, here you go ;-)
Op een onzichtbare wolk
In luchten ver
heven
zal ik zweven
in toekomst
en heden
geen verleden
meer zijn.
Zo ga ik dan voort
alziende de poort
door
het oog van de naald
gekropen
heb ik mijn levenspad
belopen.
Afstand genomen
zie wat gaat komen
onschatbare waarden
die niet van deze aarden
kunnen zijn.
Heden wens ik al
op mijn wolk te zijn.
In wolken geschreven
dagen van aards leven
bestaan is een wonder
gaan nog veel meer.
Een zucht en mijn zeer
het hoeft niet meer
laat mijn geest
in Oneindig gaan.
Het lelijke eendje
dat was
Een Zwaan.

On an invisible cloud
in skies raised high
shall I float
into future
and present
will be no more past
any more.
In this way I'll go on
already seeing the gate
crawling
through the eye of the needle
I have walked
my life’s path.
From a distance
I see what’s coming
invaluable treasures
that could never belong
to this earth.
Today I already long
to be on my cloud.
Written in clouds
the days of earthly life
existence is a wonder
but leaving is an even
greater one.
A sigh, my sorrow
it’s no longer needed
let my spirit
go into Infinity.
