Description
"No one has survived single combat with the Hunter Fiend," the Dark Lord said.
Wizard Lukovich replied, "Wearing my enchanted armor will make all the difference, my Lord!"
In the arena, the warrior and the beast circled each other warily.
Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered in Poser 13.3.686 using the Superfly rendering engine. Some postwork was accomplished in Superfly itself and a bit more in Photoshop. All the figures are based on V4 or M4 except the Hunter Fiend which is a stand alone figure by Sixus1. The Battle Arena is the work of the wonderful BlueTreeStudio. The Armor is the work of Powerage. As usual, I found scripts by Ken1171_design indispensable in tweaking material and setting up the scene; these scripts save tons of time and labor.
I especially have to give credit to Mazzam whose work with the same name inspired this. His work can be found at: Arena Combat

Thanks! That was what I was going after; I liked Mazzam's use of the content but thought it could stand a bit more sense of movement. I'm delighted you think I succeeded in that and I owe Mazzam a debt of gratitude for the inspiration. =)

Nicely staged-the over the shoulder POV works well with melee weapons as well as ranged...
The warrior's armor is pretty wild indeed. Bet the greaves/feet have power or magical assist :)
Thanks, JD. According to the Wizard Lukovich the armor is enchanted and surely that means magical assist; kind of a fantasy version of a powered exoskeleton! XD I'm glad you like the PoV. I debated whether to try to show more of the Hunter Fiend but decided that the warrior was to be the focus of this image; that's where I felt the story was. =)

I wonder if the old "look a three legged dog" trick would serve as enough distraction to draw off those crazy snake/tentacle looking things and open her up for a shot. Neat pic.
