Thank you. The inspiration for this piece came from a few 19th century paintings I've seen depicting a young woman, dressed up in her finery of the time, in some outdoor setting simply reading a book. I found it fascinating in its simplicity. Thought I would like to emulate that some day.

I have to give credit to the 19th century artist, whose name I can't remember though I'm pretty sure was French, for providing the inspiration for a piece like this. Images of women, especially in the digital art world, tend to be one dimensional. More akin to adolescent schoolboy fantasy than anything resembling the real world. Not surprising since it's the easiest way to get peoples' attention. If only just long enough to try to sell them something. I've done a few pin-ups myself and they always get three to four times more views than anything else. It's just one of those unchanging aspects of human nature.
