This was a made by projecting a photo of flooding on Derwent Water in the UK Lake district onto a sphere with a star field sky.

Flooding is common in the lakes - no buildings constructed on flood-plain. It is mostly agricultural land for grazing sheep and cows but they are moved to higher ground in the winter months. :-)

great idea for your composition and floods are no fun. My mother's home was on the highest part of the lot and many times 3/4 was covered in flood water and always some water moccasins would stay. we had a small dog that would alert us if he saw a snake. he would keep his distance until usually me would go out and kill the snake. while I was in college, my mother seen one in her cabinet. she called a neighbor over with a gun and he killed it. they are very poisonous.
a friend and myself would go camping above a small creek. there was a small island and we would get worms there for bait. when I went back to the rock that I was fishing from, there was a small water moccasin just where I was sitting
a block away the water would be about 10 feet deep. the yard would be about 12 inches
