Description
Okefenokee Swamp is a 438,000 acre wetland that straddles the Georgia-Florida line. I have been on a small boat tour through some of the waterways. Pretty eerie experience. It is so quiet, shaded and humid. Saw several alligators (well, mostly only their eyes as they were almost entirely under the water) and lots of turtles on logs trying to catch a little sun. There were a few wading birds also. For the most part I was just hoping the boat wouldn't stall so we couldn't get back to dry land. lol
