Oh goodness, I just love this scene. looks like something right out of a movie! Sci-Fi is not really my genre but you always manage to make me like it! Onats is another one of those characters that I bought as soon as he was released but have not used him yet. I'm going to have to go through their family album now!

Thanks! I do love sci-fi and have quite a few assets in that genre that I eventually want to put together in scenes (and I'll be posting one soon of a bot and her robot dog). But this one I labeled as "science fiction" only b/c the room is called a "SciFi Bedroom." I think it's probably more like fantasy, thanks to the peculiar but charming Onats! They're very versatile figures, with lots of options for head shapes and colors. I'm sure you'll have fun with them!

Fantastic!! Love the attention to detail on all the poses. That must be a teenager on the bottom bunk. LOL

perpetualrevision 9:50PM | Thu, 07 April 2022

Thanks! Yes, the girl on the bed is the teenager of the family! In all their "vacation photos" thus far, she's either looking at her phone or checking out her nails. Such a teenager :-)

Thanks for the comment! These figures are a lot of fun, and I look forward to seeing where they go next on their rather long vacation :-)

nice, hope they can get a partial return or maybe an upgrade.

perpetualrevision 4:38PM | Sun, 10 April 2022

Ha! Thanks for the comment. I'm sure they'll make it up to Mother with the next stop on their rather long vacation. Perhaps she'll get to treat herself to a spa day?!

Great job on this! Wonderful lighting!

perpetualrevision 12:46PM | Tue, 12 April 2022

Thanks for the comment! I enjoy figuring out how to light 1971s' sets. I try to figure out how he does it in his promos, and then I go from there!

Yup the mother does not look pleased. Wonderful work. You are so talented

perpetualrevision 5:05PM | Sun, 10 April 2022

Aw, thank you! So are you!! I just have a lot of weird ideas that Poser helps me bring to the screen :-)

MeInOhio 10:25AM | Fri, 08 April 2022

Cute scene! Great lighting! Not sure if I could tell if they were happy or not!

perpetualrevision 5:14PM | Sun, 10 April 2022

Thanks for the comment! Expressions on an alien or otherwise non-humanoid figure are a bit tricky, but I tried to make Dad have wide eyes and a smile, to show his joy, while Mom's eyes are narrowed and her lips are pursed, to show her displeasure. The teenage girl's expression is the same as every teenage girl's while staring at her social media feed :-)

MollyFootman 11:00AM | Fri, 08 April 2022

Yep. That's a family on vacation right down to Dad at the computer and teenager checking her social media feed. XD

I love how you have lit the scene and the light from the bunk bed lamps and the computer terminal add a lot. Thanks for sharing! =)

perpetualrevision 5:12PM | Sun, 10 April 2022

Thanks, Molly! It's fun to add inverse square point lights to 1971s' sets for various effects. I often try to replicate what I see in his promos, but since I don't know how he does it, I get results that suit my own style. I made the wall light near the computer blue just for variety, but now that you mention it, it does complement the blueish light from the monitor! I have no idea what Dad's pointing at on the screen, as that's just some high tech abstract art I happened to have, but maybe it makes complete sense if you're an Onat :-)

I usually try to stay away from stereotypical portrayals, but there's something kind of funny about the Onats family behaving like a stereotypical family, down to the teenage girl always looking at her phone (or her nails in some shots). They have more adventures to come!

Flint_Hawk 12:05PM | Fri, 08 April 2022

This may be a challenging, rather than a relaxing part of their vacation! But why should anything be different? What a wonderful series!

perpetualrevision 5:13PM | Sun, 10 April 2022

Thanks for the comment! Mother has specifically requested that their next vacation destination include a spa, so she can have some "me time" to recover from being in these tight quarters! :-) Now where did I put that hot tub prop...

gerberc 3:00PM | Fri, 08 April 2022

At least it looks reasonably clean and with free WiFi! Hope the journey won't last too long, otherwise this could turn to a real challenge with the children! :)

Radar_rad-dude 1:09AM | Sun, 10 April 2022

Reminds me of the close quarters on the one cruise I took many years ago! A splendid image and characters! Bravo!

perpetualrevision 5:16PM | Sun, 10 April 2022

My wife and I took a Disney cruise a few years ago and lucked out by getting a "disability accommodations" room, which was quite spacious. When we got a peek at some of the other rooms we might've ended up in, we realized just how lucky we were!! Thanks for the comment :-)

)

misumu 1:12PM | Tue, 12 April 2022

If this is what they ended up with, it has to been one shocking bait and switch. I love the Onats family.

perpetualrevision 12:06AM | Sun, 17 April 2022

Thank you so much for the comment! They've been a lot of fun to work with, and I'm sure we'll see them on more adventures. (Their travel agent is booking them destinations based on what's in my runtime :-) Ocean-going cruise ships have awfully small rooms, despite the wide angle photos you see in the advertisements, so I'm guessing space-going cruise ships are likely to have the same problem! Mother is particularly displeased that this room doesn't even have a sink, never mind a bathroom!

)

daggerwilldo 11:59PM | Sat, 16 April 2022

If it is such close quarters, why do they call it 'space' travel ???

perpetualrevision 12:07AM | Sun, 17 April 2022

I guess cuz all the space is OUT THERE, but you gotta travel through it in a tiny tin can! Then again, with all that space, why not make the ship larger??! Mother will point that out when she fills out a comment card :-) Thanks for the comment!

The Onat series is an enjoyable view. Whimsical.
