Description
She had easily escaped the labs of "Black Lilly" Mollus. She knew a search would be mounted and she faded into the wilderness of the forest adjacent to River Heights. She paused in her flight, acutely aware that her maker was "Black Lilly" and that all surrounding her was made by someone or something far different from her human creator.
N.B. "Black Lilly" Mollus is a character I created in role play in Second Life. She is an inventor and evil industrialist. The Robotrix is showing good judgement in running away. XD
Molly's art notes: This was composed in Poser Pro Game Dev and then rendered with Octane 7 years ago. It was taken into Photoshop to add a bit of glow and a blurring vignette. I filed it with Superfly renderings as Octane is also a physics based rendering engine. Octane is expensive and gives very good results with Firefly textures (mostly).
The robotrix is based on good ol' V4. The character creator, Simon3D has lots of stuff worth acquiring, I assure you. The background is by the wonderful Stonemason and is called "Return to the Enchanted Forest". It is such a shame that Stonemason is not supporting Poser in his newest releases. His stuff can still be imported but I am reluctant to invest so much money when I will have to do a ton of work to convert it. :( Nevertheless, I recommend his stuff and advise you to ante up what he asks for very high quality content.

Thanks, Kellie. I love the content but have only made a couple of pictures with her. This one was, in my opinion, the better one. I'm so glad you enjoyed it enough to comment. The whole idea would have fallen to pieces without the incredible setting by Stonemason, though.

Beautiful and haunting portrait of a character discovering nature for the first time! I have that Machina Robot character but have never made it look this good! Octane sounded promising, until I learned that it no longer works on Macs :-(
Octane is pretty wonderful so long as the textures transfer over. Material editing isn't too hard when it's needed (only a bit harder than for Superfly). Thing is, Octane is expensive and I don't know that I can afford it much longer... especially since I don't use it regularly. There's an artist I follow over at Deviant Art, Wim Van De Bosport, who uses it exclusively. He has a sly sense of erotic humor and a deep love of all things Harry Potter, just for a start. I recommend his gallery. =)
As for Octane for the mac... =( I imagine that Octane for any form of Poser will not continue much longer. High development costs for a small user base is not a good business model.

Magnificent results with this fine creation, Molly! I really love how this turned out! Such amazing and super fine details. Always love an image with a robotic twist to it. I have the M4 Machina Robot but haven't used it in awhile. I agree with you on Stonemason! My last purchase of his was 'Streets of Old London', which, as you say, was a very time consuming project bringing it into poser. More work than I'm willing to tackle anymore! Great work here, my friend! Many happy and wonderful accolades from me!

Thank you so much, DG. Your comment on using the rule of thirds for composition really pleases me as I often think of such things. I've read so much on lighting, composition, manipulation of DoF and the like that sometimes I think I'm running out of room in my tired old brain. ;-P

Thank you, my dear. As I look at the picture years later I'm thinking I should have tried harder to use the reflective surface of the water to better effect; perhaps reflecting the Robotrix. It's always a problem that anything you do... you can always do better. >.<
I only ever did one other picture with the robotrix and I think it may be time to try some more with her. =)

I like her description as 'Inventor and Evil Industrialist' poor thing seems to have little hope of redemption even though she is a nature lover; great work on the setting, Molly, that looks very cool with the contrast of machine and nature
I had a real sense of the tragedy of her "unnatural" origin at the hands of an evil industrialist and her discovery of nature while trying to escape and maintain autonomy. The theme interests me and I'm so pleased it sparked such feelings in you, too! <3

She needs a 'boogie' bag' full of circuit boards, servos, and oil in case she's out awhile...guessing she has a micro fusion reactor to keep her going without a charging port lest she end up like current electric vehicles lacking fast chargers. Otherwise Mollus would be on her like flies on a dumpster....

This picture is striking because of the contrast of real nature and the artificial female robot. Your explanation of technical background alway interests me. The background nature is really realistic and very beautiful designed. Its a petty that Poser users could not use "Return to the Enchanted Forest" in an easy way. Its very much fun to look at the picture and as a lover of nature I admire it.
