Description
The vetebral linkage connected her to the ship, it's drones and the hive mind of the Alveria Mentis, her race. She is one of the very few humanoid nodes still extent and her swarm unit is to be feared.
Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered in Poser 12.0.757 using Superfly Cycles 2 and then tweaked in Photoshop for glow (spectral bloom) and a subtle vignette. The character is based on the V4 mesh with textures by RedEyeCat (who is retiring from 3D content creation), the Wired body props are from SixthSense at RDNA (which no longer exists), the drones are by Summoner and the set is by Coflek-Gnorg.
The Alveria Mentis are hive mind beings not unlike the Borg in Star Trek (Yes, I know... I've not ever had one original idea). I used them in stories of the peacekeepers of the Pax Universae Protectorate, a corner of the Mollyverse I may return to one day. I had not thought about PUP and it's various races and the Peacekeeping Force for quite some time but Coflek-Gnorg's set reminded me of it.

Totally awesome and scary sci fi image!!! A smile usually makes you feel at ease but hers does not put me at ease at all. LOL

Awesome camera angle! And what a cool scene overall! Really shows off how good Superfly is at metals and emissive lights! The Mollyverse is amazingly large and varied, and I hope you return to ALL your stories eventually, as they make for such great scenes to share!

Just as a note: I tweaked some of the emissive materials for different color and brightness but all the metal bits on the drones and the Alveara Mentis swarm leader are "out of the box" Firefly materials. A lot of more recent Firefly materials (say the last 10 years) render very nicely in Superfly. =D
As for the Mollyverse, it's a big place and like the real universe it's always expanding... XD

Super cool image very visually appealing, superb textures and materials they are spot on, and some lovely lighting effects...!!...quality central character if not somewhat manic expression....but i guess it goes with the territory, being the lead of a feared swarm unit...

a very well balanced composition even with all the components flying around and as others have commented, she has a scary look that probably isn't down to an extra glass of Glenmorangie :)
Heh, yeah there's more than overindulgence in Scotch driving that expression! ;-P
I had a great time with composing this and wound up tilting the camera a bit on the Z-axis to give it a feeling of imbalance and tension. Between that and her expression (well, I guess her complexion, too) I was hoping to make the viewer very uneasy. =)
