Description
The iron giant fastened it's arms around the cat girl and lifted her, clearly meaning to take her alive. She struggled, hissed and spit as is the way of her kind. "A little help here, Jorl?!?"
The dwarf sighed, moved the torch from his sword hand and drew his sword, looking for an opening. "Knew it were to easy. Try ter put the torch in 'is pie 'ole! Mebbe e'll drop yer to pull it outta 'is gizzard!"
Molly's art notes: Set up and rendered in Poser 12.0.757 with Superfly Cycles 2 and tweaked in Photoshop for a bit of glow and vignette. The catgirl is A3 using some very old material from DAZ I was reminded of recently by Mazzam. The textures haven't aged well and I messed with them to try to give the impression of fur rather than plastic (the hair was the worst >.<). The Dwarf and the Iron Golem are by Sixus1 and are available at Renderosity. The setting is by Cybertenko, also available at Renderosity. I used the volumetric prop by Afrodite-Ohki to add a slight mist; I find it easier to manipulate and render than Poser's intrinsic atmosphere.
So. I don't do cute well. =) I do peril, though!

Fantastic action scene! Her expression and pose really make this image. The lighting is awesome. Love the way it's shining off the sword. Balances it.
Thank you, Kellie! All the lighting is the two point sources in the torches. I find scenes in the dark very challenging but I think I got this one nailed. XD

Oh no, Cat Girl in peril! Will the iron giant keep her as a pet, or will Jori manage to help his friend break free from its clutches?! Tune in next time... there will be a next time, right? Great lighting and such a forlorn expression on the Cat Girl's face! You definitely know how to do peri! I believe you can do cute, too, if/when you feel inspired, but when the muse says, "Do an action scene," you must listen :-)

Thank you Annie! I spent a lot of time with cat girl's expression and pose. Probably the thing I spend the next largest amount of time was on material for the danged sword that reflected in a way that I liked. >.<

Cat girl's not finished yet but I sense a bargain might ensue. Dwarves are ironsmiths (at least by trope) so he might have a trick up his sleeve. Don't think the torch would hurt the golem, but it might singe some kitty hair if it gets knocked which-aways. A big magnet would be really interesting....

Thanks, Paul. I like my action and peril but I'm not fond of excess and usually keep it a bit silly and at the level of PG rating. I'm glad that you found the PoV and lighting (just the torches) effective! <3
