Description

Every man should have the freedom to be pretty in pink! ==AMY’S NOTES== When I saw this outfit on deep discount, I had to get it, even if only for a one time use. I’ve always found the outfit delightful, but not for the reasons you might think. As a member of the LGBT community and a gender & sexuality educator, I have deep respect for all the various flavors of gender expression, none of which are directly linked to sexual orientation. Every man should feel free to embrace whatever aspects of gender appeal to him, even if that means dancing in a pink tutu :-) Rendered in February 2022 using Firefly in Poser Pro 11 for Mac at 2048 × 1152 pixels. Art effects applied in Painnt. View full size on my blog. ==CREDITS== SCENE: French Style Shabby Chic Vol01 by Anima Gemini. CHARACTER: Freak 4 character for Michael 4; Pretty in Pink outfit by Guarie, with materials from PM Shimmer by Atenais (also used on curtains).

Glad you liked it! I can't take credit for the pose, however, as it came with the outfit (which is specially made for the Freak 4).

Sometimes I set out to do a render that I intend to use art effects on, but other times when I just can't get something right as is (usually lighting), the art effects can make such a difference! I esp. love what the Painnt app can do with renders. I've tried various other art effects apps over the years, but none quite like this. I tried running this scene through Topaz Studio 2's effects, and I got a nice kind of impressionistic painting look, but the paint strokes sort of "fell off" the subject in places, and that just looked weird. Even impressionists didn't usually let their skin tones smear onto their backgrounds!

Can't argue with the sentiment. There's a group of male ballet performers who perform the female parts but I am not remembering any details except that the usual male parts are not performed en pointe as the female parts are and these fellows wanted to perform en pointe and be as pretty as the ballerinas. Ballet Trockadaro perhaps?

Regarding execution, the pastel colors for the room and tutu are great and nicely off set by the dark, stormy appearance of the exterior through the windows. The postwork is interesting and reminds me a bit of some graphic novel art. I like the triumphant smile on his face. Thanks for sharing your work, Amy!

Thank you for the comment, Molly! And for the info on Ballet Trockadero, which bills itself as an "all-male comic ballet," but I'm pretty sure those dancers take it pretty darn seriously! :-)

The more I look at this render, the more I wish I'd done in in portrait orientation rather than landscape, but it's hard to break out of the landscape habit! The dark stormy night though the windows was an interesting byproduct of the art effects app. The pictures I used outside the windows were fairly simple night landscapes, since I wanted to light the room as though it was night. But they do look rather dramatic!

I really love what some art effects apps can do to renders and would probably use them if I ever do make illustrations for a graphic novel. Sometimes I do a render knowing I'm going to use art effects, but more often I turn to them when I can't get the render to look the way I want (usually due to lighting). They open up so many new possibilities for making art!

Delightful render. Love the pastels and the illustration style :)

Thank you! I think I used one of my favorite Painnt filters on this one. Without it, the render just looked kinda boring, despite the subject matter. Something about the materials and the lighting just wasn't working together... until I applied this effect! So, as with the Star sisters on the Victorian street, I'm finding that the art effects apps can extend the possibilities for using various content!

This is a splendid piece! Every time I look at it, I am reminded of a scene from a fun movie. I was hoping that I could recall the title, but I haven't had any luck. The effect that you have used suits it perfectly!

Wow, your character does look very similar to mine. However, I will note, that I didn't actually use the "Freak" setting on Michael 4, I just "muscled up" the basic Michael 4 the way I usually do, and then added some bulk to make him appear to have more of a "dad bod" than the lean, mean bodybuilders I usually "morph." Pretty in Pink was made for Michael 4, Freak 4, and Hiro 4. I don't use Hiro (who is usually more slender in stature than M4), but I loved how this outfit auto-fit most of the morphs. I only had to make minor adjustments to avoid poke-through. Brava to your image and your character, love the setting, too!
