Description
Olivia is just kickin' back and enjoying a little getaway to the beach. She just wanted to let everyone know that I haven't left the planet. Yet. My money is going into some improvements to this house - not rocket rides alongside some billionaire...
Sorry for my lack of activity here lately, but be assured I am close to completing Page 22, and will post it soon. Things here have been insane. I've been doing a ton of work with the house, doing a ton of digging through closets, down-sizing and getting rid of tons of stuff we don't need or use anymore, meeting with various contractors, and so on. I feel like I'm busier than I ever was when I was working. I'm already getting next week scheduled.
We are having a new roof installed on the house. It's expensive as hell, of course, but we've been here 18 years, and I don't know if the previous owner ever had the roof replaced. We have found a few leaks. Plus with the current market, I'm hoping to recover the roofing costs, and more. I've already seen estimates of around $146K for this place. So I'm hoping we can sell for enough to get a really nice place - in a far better area - to spend the rest of our lives.
Anyway... The jist of all this is there might be times I'm gone for a few days or a week for the next couple of months. I'll be getting caught up with all your wonderful artworks in the next day or two.

a very peaceful sea scene, and Olivia looks as if you caught her as she's about to jump onto the sand and go into the water. I love the off-the-cuff, spontaneous pose you got. I don't know how you do that in 3D---ie, to pose someone by hand (so to speak) so they look like they're in the middle of a very complex move. Even 2D artists work from living models, but you have to create this from scratch. She looks at you in surprise, and you matched her bikini to the water, and her hair looks ready to come down...The truck also has blues, and it gives a dark "foundation" to your image, with the upper half dominated by water and clear blue sky. She's also in line with the tree, and the sand (so bright) seems to be holding her in place. Spontaneous and sexy and relaxed. It sure conveys a mood I'm sure you'd much rather be living, right now, than what you're dealing with at home. I hear how the housing market is hot, and I can fully understand how you're motivated to do everything you can to make this sale really good for you and Jo, and as soon as you can. (Soon is relative, I realize: This isn't happening this weekend, though I'm sure you'd be thrilled if it were.) You're so good to all of us, you just take whatever time you need (who would I be, telling anyone they shouldn't step away when things happen?), and I'm sure all your fans---me included---understand fully the times you can't be here: You're dealing with a lot. Sorry I'm late to this, I had to take some days for apartment matters (replacing some flooring), and more phys therapy, etc. But I saw this when it went up and you did a great job with it. All the best in your work with your home, Rod. (Too bad you guys can't move into one of your images!)
Sounds like you could use some time out, and a day at the beach as well. I know you will be glad when you get all the reconstruct done and things shaped up how you want them. I also wish you tons of success on making a good sale and finding the perfect new home. Just keep plugging away and pop in to visit or post when you can. Great render!
