Description

I was getting ready to do a little work in the back yard, and when I opened the door this lovely young lady was looking at me. I grabbed my camera, and got a few photos of her. I let her browse a bit, and let her leave before I started my work. I've been battling a bit of depression lately, and seeing this lovely doe made me happy. Aside from my visitor, a few things have picked my spirits up, and are looking a good deal more positive for this selling / buying / moving adventure. Looks like I may get more for this place than I thought, and buying another one may not be as out of reach as I anticipated. We did get some news that made us both a bit sad. Our awesome doctor that we've had for many, many years is retiring at the end of the year. We're happy for him, of course, but will miss him deeply. He's not only an outstanding doctor, but just a great guy with a heart the size of Texas. And I'm sure the last couple of years have been a 3-ring circus for him. Just as an aside..... I'm pretty much going to be using the "Activity Feed" to catch up with everyone's art, and comment. The Ebots seem to have stopped working (again). If I miss anyone, my apologies in advance. I am working on the next page in the TNA story, it just seems like there's so much other crap in my face and demanding my attention these days. But I'm still forging ahead.. Thanks for your patience, visits, comments, and support. You all are awesome! Rod's Lair Girls From T.N.A. Website Rod's Blog Facebook Twitter Girls From T.N.A. Twitter Page DA Art Station Discord

glad your feeling a bit better my friend. maybe she came to help out on your foundation at your house. i never really depend on ebots over the years, they are always up and down like the stock market. i always use activity feed. i recall that Clint Eastwood movie where he went to see his doctor and found out he had retired, Gran Torino i think. stay positive my friend.

... nice shot of this lovely forest creature, and the camera an envy of many. I cherish my previous camera of choice, and have lately been enjoying a thrift store find, a Power Shot SX-150, I used with recent photos.

It's a great camera - and my older Canon Digital Rebel lenses also work on it. I wanted a 5D, but at $5,000, I couldn't justify it unless I was shooting professionally. This one is the next step down, and was expensive enough. I bought it several years ago before I retired. I sure couldn't afford it now!

What a beautiful deer! The wildest thing that I've seen so far in my backyard was a juvenile coyote, and he didn't stick around long enough for me to get a picture.

Wow! Great shot! I love to see wild life! My sister lives close to the Forrest and she showed me photos of deers and foxes she hat to visit her garden. I, my self just get visit from two squirrels 2-4 times a day, where they get their breakfast, lunch and diner from the squirrel feeder. I remember when I was in the Us for holidays, we had a night in a RV in the Joshua tree national park, where we got visit from Coyotes during diner. He stood only about 30 to 50 feet away from us and watched us. In the night I heard them howling beside our RV - man that was an experience!!! ❤

Great photo of this curious doe, thank you for this beautiful sharing. Dear Rod, I hope you get out of the depression. For my part, I am sinking deeper and deeper into it thanks to a bad person who wants to kill me...

A lovely capture of a beautiful creature! When deer call you often have to be very still as they are sometimes the easiest of creatures to startle. I'll pass on a tip I was given by a wildlife warden at one of our parks; with any wild animal if you smile at them keep your lips closed. A lot of animals show anger or threat by baring their teeth, so if you show a toothy grin it can look like a threat to a wild animal. Enjoy your wild visitors and good luck finding a buyer!

Great news on your good fortune!!!

I'm glad she picked your yard to graze and hung around long enough to pose for you. Great news on the house. I hope it goes quickly for you. Keeping my fingers crossed (it might even improve my typing hehe).

Your new friend is awesome, but it's the fence in that background that fascinates me. I love photographs of fences, and that one has so much personality. I'll bet there's a ton of cool photo's just waiting to happen with that fence - especially in black and white high contrast.

oh yeah, a lot of people would luuuuuv the 5D (MkIII)---richard has that, I think. Yeah, you gotta be pro to justify that price tag---but it's one helluva camera. But you've got the 6D: That's a major camera! I don't have anywhere near that. (I keep threatening to upgrade, but so far...) (I don't shoot enough these days...)

Anyway, first off I'm sorry for your depression: You've had so many bumps in the roads and roadblocks, etc: You've had a lot to deal with. Depression is wholly understandable. And I'm very sorry about your doctor retiring: A great family doctor is like family---his retirement must feel a little like a loved one moved a long, long way away. I hope you find someone as fine in the future. (And yeah, medical people have had one helluva year w/ covid. I can see where retirement might look very sweet around now...)

I'm very happy about the value of your property, and I hope it makes all your preparation easier, and makes the sale and purchase a lot easier. That was great news for sure.

Finally, love the deer---they look right at you don't they? Maybe he's offering help with your place. (Or maybe he wants to borrow your camera---hey, he'd love a 6D, but has to settle for a 2 MP point-and-shoot. Rough being a deer...) Love his stance...and I too love that old fence. (Maybe Wolf'll write a story about it one day.) You really do have some beautiful nature where you live, I've always loved the wild scruffy look of those great trees and bushes: I'm just sorry it comes with so many problems. I wish you all the best, Rod, with everything. And the deer was a sweet intervention to lighten up your difficult days...

Awesome picture of the deer in your back yard Rod! I too share the same passion for taking pictures, even though my cameras are not as nice as the Cannon 6D that you have, the Cannon Rebel SL1's that I own are inexpensive and fully capable of doing all the photography work I could ever ask of them to do! I usually have an 18/135 mm lens attached to one for all those grab and go picture taking opportunities. It was designed to be lightweight and compact and I like that, yet it accepts all the full size lenses in the Canon family! I have another SL1 set up for video work only (I bought that one on e-bay for a very reasonable price) I also have another SL1 one set up indoors on a tripod for desk top photography. I have a diecast car collection and I take pictures of them with this camera. I always admire Sir Richard's photos! his mastery of his Cannon camera is amazing! As far as the depression goes...just try to fill your time with all the things that make you happy Rod! Put your TNA girls on high alert and anytime a depressing thought comes your way, have your TNA girls dispatch those unwanted thoughts away quickly! Hopefully this brought a smile your way! Take care my friend! :-)

Beautiful capture. Always brightens up my day to see a bit of wild life. Well, this kind of wild life, I mean. Not the rowdy neighbor kind.
