Bryce - Spiralizer - Amorphium - All my own textures and models. A VERY long render. 😻
This is a landscape I have arranged and rearranged, textured and retextured, lit and re-lit - on and off for over 18 years. Finally - I got what I was looking for all along about a month ago. (You might wonder why sometimes it is weeks between my posts. 😅)
Jane’s Diary - The Sea of Glass Bones
The pilgrims who come here all hope to have - or at least witness - some of the supernatural experiences that are abundant in the Cloud Garden world. I am always glad to share those experiences that are (mostly) dependable at special sites the pilgrims have labeled “Altars” long ago.
At this Altar, we always arrive before dawn. As the first rays of light strike the structure, it emits beautiful, deeply resounding bell tones that vibrate through your whole body.
There are Voices - Harmonies. Songs of universes, channeled through crystal and purity - nothing in the way. These massive bell tones touch us like tympani, giving our bones MHz moments that usually only Planets enjoy. Wondrous, this alien, beautiful rumbling continues to roll out in deep immensity until the entire sun is present
In full light, the structure quiets down into soft chords that continue and vary all day, as the ever-changing cloud forms interrupt or slightly obscure the rays of the overhead sun.
As you have probably already guessed, this great iridescent crystalline organ quiets at sunset, and remains silent during the night. Mute to the moon and stars.
It’s morning awakening is never the same twice, as no sunbeam is ever the same as any other. The combinations of music, light and awakened colors is always new. And totally thrilling. How could I ever think of leaving, of being anyplace where I would never hear and feel these stirring notes again.
This was all part of my decision, to stay here and leave my home planet, and even my family. My whole Being needs this music, this magical light - these indescribable colors. And everything else that is here - and nowhere else.
These things define my deepest self in a way I can never adequately describe, even to myself. Sometimes I see this same wordless whatever-it-is in the visitors I guide to these experiences. I recognize right away, the ones who will have to return - the ones who will wordlessly need to revisit the voices and wonder of this world, again and again.

Eighteen years? That must be some kind of record. I love how you think and rethink how to make your images even more awesome. The colors in this are almost hypnotic. The image almost seems to move and shimmer.....Wow!!!
eastern meditation mystics speak of deep sounds embedded in the depths of our being, which can be heard in deep states of meditation...you've spoken of them here. It's so fitting that they begin with the coming of the sun, and go away after its setting. The sun's energy awakens them, brings them to life. Your image has lots of light and dark in it, and primary colors with subtler in-between hues. And it looks like a creature made of glass, with many feelers, and wonderful reflections in the sea beneath it. The verticals do suggest organ pipes, in fact the whole shape of this spiritual object suggests the front of a gigantic organ. It's topped off with saturated red (passion). I can understand your not wanting to leave this place...
