Much appreciated Glenda
Didn't know that, will have to look up more, is this then Nimue? Another fine image, the waterfall is a genius touch
Sort of, but not exactly... The Lady who bestows the sword is nameless in the earliest versions of the tale. Nimue (originally Niniane) is a separate character, the Lady of the Lake who raises Lancelot according to Chretien de Troyes. The two characters became conflated in later mediaeval re-tellings, as the story of Vivian/Nimue and Merlin evolved and by the time Mallory wrote Le Morte d'Arthur.
Very beautifully done. Exquisite beauty and mood.
And a beautiful Lady of the Lake to bestow it upon a worthy hero!
Wonderful

Thanks Lev... for this I went back to the old tales of the Mabinogion.
Oh, this is spectacular...and strangely moving.
Thanks Lin, much appreciated. I find many of those old tales rather poignant; few of them have happy endings.
