A Distant Land
I'm lost in a memory,
Or maybe, I'm having a day dream,
Of being somewhere else.
A golden field,
Or maybe the feel of a warm breeze,
On a beach with the sound,
Of gentle waves.
How is it I can hear you cry,
From a million miles away?
How is it I can feel your tears,
From just a heart beat away?
You pull my soul strings,
You make me sad,
You make me mad.
We walk through the mist,
Through the fog of life.
We wonder if we will find,
A peaceful shore.
We wonder if we will,
Be smashed upon the rocks,
Of a lonely distant land.

Now that I have a good spot for taking a photo from this pov, I'm going to try and capture different times of the day through out the year. I like how the sunlight is bent through the atmosphere, changing color as it goes in this sunrise. Should be fun to see how mother nature plays, as long as she doesn't play too rough, lol.... ;)

no natives with welcoming garlands, or dolphins acting as pilots, no fish or bird to greet the mariner on reaching the edge of the world... or so that amazing vastness suggests :) lovely scene, gives you some idea what it must have been like for de Gamma and co on reaching distant shores...

I love watching Sunrises and Sunsets Mother Natures color palate is so much better than I can accurately reproduce. The only difference with this shot and one East and West from my place is I got no water just a sea of sand and sagebrush with Mntns. on the horizons.

Great idea. Don't forget to get some captures when the weather isn't so peaceful :) Here all is calm--beautiful sunrise and calm waters--but things must get sort of hairy on occasion.
Ha ha, don't worry we get some nasty weather from time to time. I'll put on the rain gear if it's a great shot, if I get swept away I'll blame it on you G, lol... ;)
