Well, I had my appointment yesterday with my Urologist. I left the session feeling totally bummed out and numb (not comfortably, mind you). I learned that when she went in to remove the bladder stones, she discovered that the tumor was over 8 cm in size and had attached itself quite nicely to my bladder wall. On top of this news, I learned that this cancer is rare in the US and is usually only seen where a parasite is found. The technical name for this cancer is Squamous cell carcinoma and was malignant. Now, two options were verbalized: remove the bladder, have the urine go out my navel into a bag, or have a bladder replacement surgery. I chose door number two. Due to this cancer's nature, I need to have this done within 6 weeks or less. I will be going over to OHSU to have the procedure done. I will keep you fine people apprised of the situation during this time frame.
