after seeing your new version of this, I decided to seek out the original...can't believe I didn't comment on it (actually, it was posted at the time my sister was at her sickest, so I wasn't here much---I missed a lot, I see)...This is beautiful, barb. Your light is golden late-day light, but with olive tones. It radiates intimacy. Part human part, part winged creature, part fairy, etc (maybe an eld), she/he is in a wonderful position, looking up to see us intruding, mid crawl. Great skin designs, and I love the mushrooms (which are echoed in her orange spots on her skin---I say "her," but it could be a "his" too). The trees are very tall and primeval, and you have a break in the forest in that sliver of sky on the right---which is a perfect echo of the tree forms. It's really a beautiful image, with great contrasts and ferns and light/shadow and hues. It also has the feel of a print, and an old one at that, that's been rescued and renewed...
