Beautiful macro! Great play of light and shadow. Wonderful level of detail on the "bug".
An interesting and excellent capture, J_C...this critter is new to me...probably not a Robber Fly since they seem to exclusively attack other insects and are not pollinators, which this critter seems to be. Could be a Hover Fly, but would have to see more of it to be certain.
here they are called "Robber Flies" and they make so much noise with their wings. very good capture
