Description
Dante sets out led by Virgil, when a door surmounted by a terrifying inscription appears before them:
'Per me si va ne la città dolente,
per me si va ne l'etterno dolore,
per me si va tra la perduta gente.
'through me you go to the painful city,
through me it goes into eternal pain,
through me it goes among the lost people.
it is the gate of Hell.
I wanted to represent it in a virtual way with the terrified souls trying in vain to escape that portal.

I love the crushing sky and the desolation of hell, but most of all how the people are huddled in their togetherness as one in their souls.
