Description
I'm trying to be productive and learn more modelling--you would think making a purse would be easy peasy but I am finding it much more of a challenge than fantasy items (because everyone knows what a purse is "supposed" to look like :D
This one survived being exported out of Wings. I had a nice one that somehow got some normals flipped, and when I went to fix them I somehow managed to delete some of the decorative trim, so that one got foldered... and I went on to bash this one out. It still needs some refinement--the body texture map is stupidly stretchy for a cylinder (!) while the much more complex handle mapped with no problems. This is a Poser one, I will make a DS version too.

It's cute! Has a bit of a shabby chic or vintage feel to it, with lots of opportunities for scrapbook-type textures!

It's adorbs!! Can't test this one though, CAUSE MICROSOFT BRICKED MY DAMN COMPUTER!!!!!!!! I have no computer until I manage to fix what they fubared. None of their "recommended" fixes or walkbacks are working, so now it's a salvage operation...try to recover my files and start over again. 😬

This is the way to learn modelling, keep making stuff! Look for YouTube tutorials on the software you use and make one model after another. Once you have made a few dozen or a few hundred models you will be much better at it. If you only do it occasionally you won't get any better. Keep trying to make each model better than the last one and keep going.
Thank you so much! I haven't gotten as much done as I would like--I still need to load up your drone and be sure it works, but I see Rob has covered the basics :D I am spending a lot of time cooking like it was 1950 :D

I would cheat and make a torus and then spend time painting it instead of modelling :D
