Description
"Mr. Walton, I Have a Question", was often heard coming from a student after class.
My last semester teaching college there was a young lady who all semester sat in the front row. The question she asked one day after class was, "What can I do to raise my grade" (while batting her eyes and flashing a coy smile.)
The best I could do was to play naive and say, "Do all your assignments and get an A on the next exam and the final."

Nice scene! I had experiences like that while teaching at a university, from men and women, and what I always thought to myself but would never say out loud was, "Get smarter"! As if there's something other than intelligence and hard work that should enable you to get a higher grade!! I guess the reason students try it is that sometimes, it works.
Yes, it's unfortunate when teachers cross the line. But, you're right, people like that need to get smart.
