Oh but what Mr. Xerr-grinch wouldn't do for his best friend Tabby... there must be a soft heart behind this grumpy grouch. :) Well, it's ridiculous how long it took me to get this render done. I actually started it two years ago, but Daz kept giving me a hard time with it so I gave up. Anyway, lately I've been digging up all these incomplete renders that have just been sitting on my hard drive and when I came across this one I thought "I HAVE to give it another try". I added her clothing and the ornaments (still hadn't done that) and then Daz started crashing like crazy again. So I started breaking it down one piece at a time to see where the problem was. At one point I rendered Xerr alone and all was well so I realized something was up with Tabby. After numerous attempts and failures it turned out to be the hair. In the end I had to render a scene with just Tabby and the hair - shadows off - and it worked. Added the hair back in in Photoshop (which is why her shadow doesn't have any hair). Can't believe I finally managed to get it done though! The wierd thing is I had already done a scene with Tabby and that hair and I had no problems with it. If I remember correctly I actually used that very scene as a starting point for the new one, same lights and everything. So no idea what went wrong. Anyhoo, enough rambling.
