Description
I shot this at a rest stop in Wyoming, somewhere between Laramie and Rawlins.. I loved the clouds and desolate landscape. I really wanted to get the Mavic in the air here, but it was sooooo windy, it probably would have wound up in Idaho someplace!
It seems like we no sooner started this trip, than we were pulling back into our driveway.. Anyway, I'll have more photos from our trip soon. I'm about ready to get Page 41 put together - just a couple more little tweaks. Hope to have it posted this weekend.
I'll also have a new "Behind The Scenes" in a few days.

outstanding landscape and sky. we actually got a short downpour this evening. I went out to see it since we have had none since July
I wanted to go to Laramie but only got on the west side. Rawlins has a really old historic prison also that I have not seen

First off, everyone (and I mean everyone) should view this full size: When it stretches out across the screen, it shows what you do with landscapes. It's dark and majestic, and that low rolling horizon---which may contain huge mountains, but which seem low from your perspective---is like a gigantic soft carpet. I don't know how you do that, but you have an eye for that kind of thing. And your proportions---there must be 3/4 to 4/5 sky here---bring out just how overarching that sky is, esp when it's got clouds as threatening as these. This must be why they call it "big sky country". (You know what? I think that's Montana...well, move over Montana, we're changing your name...) The light in those clouds makes them look like a gigantic fleece-spill in the middle of the sky. Huge detail up there...Big, sweeping and grand, Rod. You know how to capture nature, sir. Big and splendid. (And if you do get to Chicago, I'll be sure to have the Lake put on a show for you...get some wind, some 18 foot high waves, w/ Lake Shore Drive right behind. We'll shut down the town!)
