Description
The Bornean Crestless Fireback is, not surprisingly, endemic to Borneo. It is found in the lowland forest, including primary and well-regenerated, closed-canopy evergreen forests. It gets its name from its flame orange tail.
It is listed as "vulnerable" with less than 20,000 adults left. The main threats are loss, degradation and fragmentation of habitat caused by large-scale commercial logging, even within protected areas, and widespread clearance for plantations of rubber and oil palm.
