Description
The twins, Trish and Trevor, were playing with their new water guns. They were Space Aliens invading Earth and to get into character they had raided the finger paints to disguise themselves. While investigating this new world, they discovered two Earthlings (their sister Jennie and her boyfriend Michael) sitting at the picnic table. Michael had just worked up the courage to kiss Jennie when the twins attacked with the water guns, quite effectively killing the mood. Jennie’s screams could be heard all over the neighborhood and the twins wisely stayed out of her sight for the rest of the day.

I love your title (a takeoff on the other version), and I know this scene very well---I and my friends did this to my sister, when I was a kid; if murder weren't against the law, I'd be dead today. I love the shadow on the kids, makes their sneaking up feel all the more hidden. And Jennie and Michael are sunken in shadow, to evoke their intimacy. You've used some very dramatic shadow in some recent pieces, and it's brought a whole other sensibility to their images. The image suits your story perfectly. (I also, as a kid, took my sister's 45 rpm record collection; and me and my friends made frisbees out of them, and they got caught in the trees. My sister nearly had me deported---elvis presley, "The Green Door," "Summertime," Fats Domino...all destroyed...I'm sure I was worse than the kids in your image...)
