Description
Papilio machaon
It had been a long time since I had seen this butterfly! In this picture, he is above me, hanging on the flower he is foraging. Photo taken in my garden, the flower is a butterfly-bush (Buddleja davidii)

Wow, ta photo nous en met plein les yeux, avec ce splendide papillon presque noir et blanc, qui se détache bien sur les fleurs colorées et le ciel bleu.........ta macro est de toute beauté, Jean-Claude !
Incredible capture JC, such a sharp capture of this beautiful butterfly my friend. You are awesome with the lens. 10+
Une autre beauté prise magnifiquement sur le vif
Very beautiful macro !!
Fantastic capture! Marvelous closeup! Another superb image, Jean! Bravo!
Looks like you had to lie down on the ground to get this super capture, J_C :) I rarely see any butterflies here in my neighborhood--not even in the park 1 block from my home (it is filled with flowering plants) ...in fact, I rarely see any insects--no bees, no ants, nothing than an occasional black fly.. I wonder what the birds eat..very scary...hope you are staying cool...
Magnifique photo, mon ami! Dans mon jardin, j'ai placé une petite assiette avec une pierre pour que les oiseaux et les papillons puissent étancher leur soif pendant la canicule, surtout quand il n'y a pas de rosée sur les brins d'herbe le matin !
(In my garden I have placed a small plate with a stone so that the birds and butterflies can quench their thirst during the heat wave, especially when there is no dew on the blades of grass in the morning!)
Such a pretty scene/capture. great job .
Lucky you! What a beautiful capture!!!
A great capture of this guy, always cool patterns in nature...
Here we are lucky to have the Monarch fly through once and a while.
Superbe composition !
Fantastic capture.
beautiful capture
Ohh you gorgeous thing!
Fantastic motif for a postcard. Wonderful shot, Jean-Claude.
one flew right past me while I was in my SUV. same bred and colors. superb macro
Superbe photo, Jean-Claude !
Beautiful capture!
Tu m'en "bouches un coin"!
excellente prise de vue et trèsbeau papillon
Beautiful
I have seen a similar butterfly here but this year seeing a lot on monarch butterflies. Cool capture my friend,
This Subject always reminds me of the TOMS' I know. in this case, Via: Gus, Son of a Greek Soda Pop Maker, Charlies' (from East Texas) Friend. With ALL that implies. (imdb: Wilson's War) AN EXCELLENT IMAGE. Highest Marks on THIS ONE!
