nice brushwork... but more importantly, it's the story within, that speaks in the looking. we are such frail creatures in the end, and you contrasted that with the absolute fierce emotional strength of our need to bond, to stay bonded [to someone or some thing], for as long as we can endure: maybe it's the physical death of lovers that is occurring, maybe it's the emotional death of a relationship, or loss; or maybe it's the bright hot unrelenting love never relinquished, that loud, quiet, soft madness that defies time... regardless, you've quite masterfully left this so open to interpretation, and thus asks, or invites, the viewer to engage, and honestly, i personally think that this is what arts' true purpose is - it can teach us something about ourselves if only we are willing to listen to the whispering within...
