I work on a Mac so I install everything by hand. It is tedious but if anything goes wrong I know where to find it. I use my computer's search command a lot when things seem to go missing. And I save all my product zip files.

If the files / folders haven't been deleted you should be able to re-link to them in the Poser Library tab. Click the little folder icon with a '+' at the top right of the panel.
If you haven't already, invest in a USB external hard drive to back everything up. It saves a lot of headaches..
